Privacy Policy — Wrecklight

Effective 2026-09-13

Wrecklight is a single-player survival roguelite for iPhone. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you play it. The short version: Wrecklight runs entirely on your device, and we do not collect anything.

This app is published by Tom Frauenfelder (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at tom@millwork.studio.

The short version

  • Wrecklight is an offline game. There is no account, no sign-in and no server behind it.
  • We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share your personal information.
  • There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking software in the app.
  • Your saves, settings and progress stay on your device.
  • The app contains no purchases and asks for no permissions.

Information Wrecklight stores on your device

Everything Wrecklight records is written to the app’s own private storage on your device. This is game state, not personal information:

  • Your expedition - the active run, including your loadout, position, enemies, projectiles, shields, carried and secured cargo, fabrication work and cooldowns.
  • Your progress - campaign completion, story records, mission availability, equipment unlocks, run records, banked salvage and recovered crystals.
  • Your discoveries - the Resonance Atlas entries and Bestiary creatures you have encountered.
  • Your settings - sound effects, ambient audio, volume, haptics, reduced effects and creature contrast.

Save files live in the app’s Application Support directory. Settings are held in the app’s private preferences store. We never receive any of it, and none of it leaves your device.

What the app does not do

Wrecklight does not:

  • ask you to create an account or sign in,
  • connect to any service operated by us,
  • include analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software,
  • track you across other apps or websites,
  • read your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera or health data,
  • send notifications,
  • use Game Center, iCloud or any other cloud sync,
  • contain in-app purchases or a shop of any kind.

The app’s privacy manifest declares no collected data. It documents one required-reason API, app-private access to UserDefaults for your own settings, under Apple’s reason code CA92.1. The app is offline, so ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption is declared false.

How long your information is kept

Because everything the game records lives on your device, it stays there until you delete it. Deleting Wrecklight removes its saves, progress and settings with it. Since we never receive them, there is nothing for us to keep, access, correct or delete on your behalf.

Your control

You are in full control at all times, because your information lives on your device. You can change or clear your settings inside the app, and you can remove everything by deleting Wrecklight from your device.

Children

Wrecklight is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and post the revised version here. If the app ever gains a feature that genuinely handles your information, such as cloud saves, leaderboards or analytics, this policy will be updated to describe it before that feature ships.
